The UK is the ninth largest industrial nation in the world, employing 2.7m people and contributing £6.7trn to the global economy.
Cornwall’s manufacturers play a significant role in these sector statistics contributing £800m annually to the region’s economy with 16,000+ employees being paid 40% higher than the county’s average salary.
Championing these achievements, the Cornwall Manufacturers Group (CMG) is inviting all manufacturing organisations, across the county, to enter their awards.
Positioning companies as industry leaders, the awards are motivated by a mission to promote best practices in manufacturing. Highlighting the achievements of the best across a number of categories including apprenticeships, innovation, environmental and exporter of the year, to ensure manufacturing continues to play an integral role in the regions thriving and diverse industrial sector.
Free to enter to businesses of all sizes, the awards acknowledge the significant commitment that Cornish manufacturers make to Cornwall’s proud industrial history.
Eric Nicholls, chairman of the CMG says: “These awards are a fantastic platform for Cornwall’s engineering and manufacturing businesses to showcase their excellence in manufacturing, not only regionally but nationally as well as Mike Rigby, Barclay’s Director of Manufacturing, will be speaking at the event. There are over 1100 manufacturing enterprises in Cornwall representing all aspects of the industry from food and drink to pharmaceuticals to textiles and metal products – Cornwall has it all and we encourage everyone to support them and enter.”
The awards will be held on 2nd November and deadline for entries close on 8 September.
